A first for gaming!

Nier Automata is a bring developed by Square Enix and Platnuim Games.  It seem that along with everything we expect a game to have; it will also have paid trohies? Well, that is what youkatei on reddit is claiming.

If this is true, then it will be a first time any developed has done this in any game. Youkatei claims that you can only buy trophies on the third play through, and they are only bought with in game currency.

This, to many consumers, will be a major sigh of relief. Though, this is a rumor and should be takin lightly, you should keep in mind that not all rumors are false.

A fixed mistake in a beloved series!

Halo is one of the biggest franchises ever to touch the Xbox. But, the most recent entry was not a "good" game. Which, is widely accepted by the community. Why was the game not accepted by the Halo fans? How does the developer plan on fixing this? These are questions most fans ask. And, I have answers to them right here.
Let's start with what went wrong. 343 industries head, Bonnie Ross, had this to say. "Halo FPS games will always have split screen moving forward." and that taking the function out was a "painful learning" experience at DICE Summit in Las Angeles.
It seems fan outcry has been heard and is much appreciated by fans. But, that is not all that 343 plan on doing with the franchise, however. When the Master Cheif collection's multiplayer was called out by some of the most passionate fans; Ross said this. "... It erodes trust with our community, as the community is part of our world building."
The plans to make Halo a great game again is a huge step in the right direction. Fans and developers [of 343] alike are excited for the next entry. But, will they deliver?

What did Phil Spencer say?

Social media is a beautiful thing. Especially when it is used to end battles! Phil Spencer took to Twitter to say this; "gaming is not a race of two consoles, and good games aren't weapons against mother platform".
The reason he posted this is of course the cancellation of Scalebound. Many Xbox fans have been looking for any good news they can find. Spencer does insure that Microsoft is planning on making good games.
That's not all he said. Spencer talked about the mobile market. He said that the mobile market would get dominated my mobile phones. Microsoft as a company is more concerned with AAA games.
So, you can see that Microsoft is not into this whole console war. And, that they plan on making more AAA games rather than mobile games. Let's hope they make up for Scalebound this June at E3.

Metal Gear Solid Movie in the works!?!

Most of us may know of the the highly acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series of games. One of which (Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater) is said to be the greatest game ever created. But, did you know there was a MGS movie in the works? Don't worry, neither did we!
The Metal Gear Solid movie will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. He was signed to be the director in 2014. Vogt-Roberts says that the series is imortant to him. So, he went to the one person he could trust with the script, Hideo Kojima. That alone is a major reason to be excited for this movie.
He went to Kojima because he wanted the movie to be true with the series. He doesn't want to make a "GI-Joe" or a "Mission Impossible". Vogt-Roberts says that it is easy to mess up a movie like this. That is part of the reason he wanted Kojima to write the script.
The budget on the movie is kind of high or low. "I want to make the version of the movie that is most true to what it needs to be, so if that is a Deadpool or Logan route where you go with a smaller budget and you’re able to make it R, great," he said. "If you need to blow it out more and really get that bigger budget and go PG-13, I think it could exist in both avenues."
If that isn't enough to make you and many other people excited then I don't know what will. The movie unfortunately doesn't have a release date. But, at least the movie isn't abandoned!

What can we expect: Horizon Zero Dawn

Guerrilla Games, we may know them for the Killzone series, is back at it again with a new game. This time it's not as dark or as the beloved Killzone. But, it may be that game we have all been looking for.
Horizon Zero Dawn is prehistoric and also futuristic at the same time! It looks like Guerilla Games pulled this off very well with this title. There will be hub settlements to get quests or just chill out after slaughtering the Dino-mechs.
The game will provide an expansive story along with an open world. This makes it possible to take on side quests or take in the view of this amazing landscape. The open world also makes for a lot of secret searching. Many people will spend hundreds of hours taking on the quests, looking at the scenery, and looking for secrets.
The enemies that you will encounter will have terrifying sounds along with their epic looks. They do have indicators that tall whether they are hostile or not. This is great if you feel like going at a certain part of the quest stealthily. But, if you want a fight, they will most likely deliver the pain.
Your character can use abilities unlocked by playing the game. They are not superpowers but, new technology. If you are in a bit at a predicament and need some way to get the advantage, make sure you have some of these abilities equiped.
Now, if I were to review Horizon Zero Dawn right now; I think I would give it an 8.5/10. The game looks like it will keep the fun coming with every turn. Graphically it may be spectacular. Let's hope Horizon Zero Dawn is what it is hyped to be. -Zach Lawhead

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard: review

The new Resident Evil 7 recaptures what a horror game really is, even if it strays away from all of the zombies and viruses. This entry take the highly acclaimed series into a path it hasn't seen before and reinvents horror that has been absent for years. The atmosphere is a warm welcome to fans of the series origins from the first three games.
The setting is suitable suitable for the for the perfect horror game. Your character,  Ethan Winters, travels to Dulvey, Louisiana to find his lover, Mia. The reason for this is a video tape she made telling him to not go find her and Ethan does the exact opposite. Ethan drive to the backwoods of Louisiana and finds a what seems to be a abandoned house. He walks in and all hell breaks loose.
The house, which is later revealed to be the Baker estate, is creepy in of itself with the perfect lighting, atmosphere, and scenery to scare people with weak stomachs. Ethan's reactions to this is basically non-existent, however. It's like he just shrugs everything off then says "Oh well... It's just an old house." and keeps moving on like it's a normal day for him. In fact, his reaction to nearly everything is like that.
The other character are exceptionally drawn out. They were created for the soul purpose of scaring you, and it works. Their personalities and supernatural abilities makes for a trully horrifying . The Bakers really put fear into the player in a way that no game has done before. It even seems that Capcom has implemented some elements of past Resident Evil games into the Baker family.
Later on in the game you get firearms such as a shotgun, pistol, or even a grenade. Though Capcom does a good job of making sure you use them strategically. Especially on bosses and some of the enemies. Though I will say that aiming is easier while using the Play Station VR headset, which has problems of its own.
Playing the game in VR is personally recommended. But, be aware of the bugs that comes with it. While using VR, you will notice the character only has forearms and no biceps. I guess Capcom didn't expect for the player to see past the forearm. But, it should have been expected. Exploration in VR, however, is the best part about the game. Having the scares in your face adds alot of value to the title.
The environment has secrets to find if you just explore the game. Which you will most likely do while running from the Bakers. The estate is a beautiful place and is meant to be viewed in it's entirety. No room is the same as the last.
The story is great! You have the amazing boss fights, scares that were executed spectacularly, and a claustrophobic environment that adds to the fear factor. But, the main character could have used some much needed character development, as it is hard to anything for Ethan.
My final verdict for this game is an 8/10. With a great story, and spectacular delivery of the horror that was promised. The bland main character who is missing any characterisation. VR that can be a little wonky at times. It is hard to give the game a higher score. It is a great game and I suggest you give it a try.

Why the MMOs?

A MMO is a game that can be played by a large number of people at once. These games have been becoming more and more popular I've the years. "Destiny" and "World of Warcraft" are prime examples of what an MMO is. But, why do so many people enjoy them so much, and, why are so many being released?
To put it simply; many people play MMOs to play with friends, or make new ones. These games are pretty much where the majority of your friends on your friends list came from if you play MMOs. With the plethora of content a MMO usually brings, it's easy to see why the fan base for this genre is growing very fast.
With more and more people having access to the inter-webs and consoles being able use it. Many developers try to make internet functionality a must in their games. It's a great way to interact around with other people, besides just saying hello in the office.
That is pretty all that can be said about the topic. If you have any questions or opinions; feel free to comment them down below. Share around if this put a new perspective on MMOs into your pretty little head.

Sniper Elite 4: Review

With Sniper Elite 4 you take control of a World War 2 soldier. He takes on his missions with his sniper, obviously. This stealth game puts you straight into Italy, which isn't talked about that much in the history books. With that being said. Is the game good?
For starters; the game has no story at all. You just start out with the general telling you to just go kill some Nazis. If you want to buy a game for its story. This game is not for you.
If you love gameplay; you're in luck. This entry add some new gameplay elements along with the one we all know and love. This includes the games most notable feature; the killcams. They are back and pretty much the same. But, they are still fun to watch. If you don't want any of the killcams; you can turn it off. The length of this game is determined by your playstyle. At most you can spend 16+ hours into the game.
The graphics are OK. It's nothing we haven't seen in a game these days. You won't be impressed with the graphics if you we're expecting innovation in that aspect.
I have to give this game an 7/10. The gameplay is amazing and can be realistic depending on your difficulty. A game like this feels like it's not meant to have a story. And, the graphics are not at par with the competition. The game is good. But, I don't recommend you buy it unless you are a fan of the series and/or stealth games.

When is it best to take a break from gaming?

Video games are one of the biggest forms of entertainment since the internet. With that said, it's no wonder why so many people spend hours or even days in some cases playing video games. Since most people don't take breaks while playing games, including myself, we actually put ourselves at risk! How? Well I will tell you.
Most of us sit down to play video games and some even smoke or drink alcohol while in the gaming chair. I am fairly certain most of us has seen those fact videos and it says something along the lines of "Sitting down for long periods of time will kill you!" but, normally the chances of that happening are very slim.
Smoking a cigarette while playing video games, on the other hand, have had a documented death or two. You can Google it! Someone was playing a game for 10+ hours while smoking a lot of cigarettes and died. So if you are going to smoke and play video games; make sure to take a break every 2-3 hours.
Drinking by itself is dangerous. Honestly, I doubt you would even think about playing drunk. Mainly, because you tend to loose a lot of skill while under the influence. So, if you do play video games while drunk however. Take a break every 1-2 hours.
These aren't the only risks though. You can lose your social life if you play too often. I don't see this being a problem with online games, however. But, many scientists insist that you play for 1-2 hours. But, we aren't going to do that. So, as a remedy for this. Just pause the game if it's not an online game and check your phone!

Why do games get released unfinished?

We all love to play video games. And, I enrages us to see a game get out on shelves unfinished. "Why does this happen?" you ask yourself. Well, I am here to spread the information on why games get released unfinished!
First, let's talk about the publishers. As most of us know; they fund the developers who make the game. But, video game publishing is a business. And, they want to make money on the product. So, they try to spend as little money as possible, and make a BIG return.
Another reason games go unfinished is time. Most games that go unfinished is because the game gets released too early. Though, this is also pushed by publishers. And, again; they do this to make money. "Time is money" is a very true statement in the publishers eyes.
But, the developers aren't innocent. Thanks to the fact we can get just about everything digitally now. The developers can just patch what is wrong with the game. Since, they know they can do this. The game does not get play tested as well as it should. Sometimes if a problem is found while play tested; the problem gets fixed much later.
I hope this helped you all figure out why games get released unfinished. We can all help developers and publishers realize that art takes time and money. They don't want to lose a fan base because of an unfinished product. But, at the same time, you have to understand their struggle.

Piracy in the gaming industry!

To some, piracy is a big deal and is frouned upon. Others take advantage of piracy whenever they can. While piracy is illegal; many people resort to piracy regularly. Why are so many people moving toward piracy as a means of getting entertainment? Well I hope to shed some light on the topic.
One of the biggest reasons people resort to piracy is money. A lot of people play video games. But, not all of them have a ton of money. So, being a pirate is the best way to get that new game they have been advertising on TV.
Another reason many people pirate video games is because that particular game is banned in their region. With games being banned left and right from all over the world. Its no wonder people pirate video games. Games like "Fallout", "Call of Duty", "God of War", and even "Minecraft" has been banned for either violence or whatever officials see as offensive.
Yet another reason is to use the illegitimate copy of the game as a demo. I find that many people do this, want to buy the game. But, as you may know; games are not made like they use to. People who do this only want to buy a good game or just have a thing for hard copies like I do.
Though many people who do pirate video games just do it because they can. Not all are like this. I hope this has shed some light on this touchy subject. And as always. Good gaming! And, good day!

Will Skyblivion be successful?

I'm case you don't know what "Skyblivion" is the I will enlighten you. It is a mod that take the everything about Oblivion and putting Skyrim's graphics on top of it. It's a movement that is going along quite nicely. But what will happen when the mod is released.
What will most likely happen is that the mod will have a huge amount of downloads. Soon, it will be so big that Bethesda themselves will get involved. They may or may not try to buy the mod and resell the mod as a game. Since a mod of a game is property to the game developers. Plus, Bethesda has done something like this. For example, the robot DLC for Fallout 4 was originally a mod for the most part.
Another scenario may be that the mod developers will be sued by Bethesda. They are notorious for this kind of behavior. They have sued people for just having the word "fallout" in the title of a game. It's not unlikely. But, I don't see it getting this serious.
In a way. The mod will be successful. But, it will have a lot of speed bumps to go through. I have a feeling such a project won't be free. With all things gaming though, only time can tell.

Will there ever be a new Army Of Two?

Army of Two is a third-person shooter with alot of masks. It takes you into the heat of battle with you and your best friend. You kill bad guys and revive your buddy while dodging bullets. It had a somewhat decent fan base as well. But, why haven't we seen anything on a new Army Of Two?
Well, to start, the third game in the franchise didn't do well and it seemed like EA wasn't confident in it at all. Plus, the crew that developed the game closed their doors. Does this mean EA can't make another game in the franchise? Not exactly.
Many fans have accepted that the game is dead. But, if another company wants to revive the franchise; they can. They need EA to publish the game of course.
If the franchise gets revived years from now; chances are it will get decent sales. Why? Nostalgia will hit everyone like a truck. Many fans will see the recognisable name and buy the game. Then since nostalgia is a great mind-fog; it will get good reviews.
Chances of a new Army Of Two being released is extremely unlikely. You must not give up hope.

Why is there "DLC"?

Other term "DLC" is short for downloadable content (if you didn't know about that already). It is usually something that doesn't mean much at all, such as clothes, or, an entire new story. With that in mind; let's ask the question. Why all of the DLC?
Let's start with the aestetic form of DLC. It serves as a way to make a character your own with items that look different than the rest. You can buy these items for usually around 2 to 5 dollars (or ¤ because it is the universal sign for money). They create this appeal towards them, that make you want to whip out your wallet and spend cash on them. They are truthfully a money making machine.
Now on to the juicey bits of DLC. The ones that create a new experience, or, expasion packs. These are probably the most favorite out of the two. With an entirely new story. You are sure to not get bored for a long while. Expansions are normally more expensive than aestetic DLC. But, it is well worth it. Why don't you all try out your new clothes in the brand new story to spice it up?
Now don't mistake DLC for microtransactions. Microtransactions are different but are for a post for another day. DLC does get a lot of bad rap and is sometimes a sign of "an unfinished game." as some gamers like to say. Sometimes that is true. But, most of the time it isn't. DLC is put into games to make sure we aren't bored or to hide that a game is utter trash. Personally, I would suggest getting DLC for more of a fun time. Good gaming my fellow gamers.

Which is better: Story, Graphics, or Gameplay?

Gaming is such a wonderful passtime. With nearly endless amounts of fun and pleasure in your hands. We ask the big question. "Which is better?"
First let's talk about story. Story is the plot, the location, and characters within a game or other form of media. Without those few things; a game is just too bland. A good story combines those three criteria in the best way possible. It is essential to most RPGs. But, that is not all games need.
Graphics is probably what most people talk about when it comes to video games today. It is how visually pleasing a game or any other form of media is. Graphics are the a major part in a game. But, that's not the biggest thing in gaming.
Finally, we have to talk about gameplay. It is the game. Without it; you won't be able enjoy the masterpiece we call video games. Every game studio is in competition with one another to one up them in this department.
All-in-all, they are important in different ways. They are all equal and are needed to create great games. I hope that the question has been answered and that you have new insight on the matter. Good day to you all; and good gaming!
